Plastic material in the office chair

With the rise of petrochemicals, polymer materials’ separation, fusion, and preparation technology are becoming increasingly mature, and the types of plastic are more distinct and thinner. However, the primary plastic used in office chairs includes PA, PP, POM, ABS, PU, etc.

PA

PA is commonly known as nylon. PA has good comprehensive performance, including mechanical properties, heat resistance, wear resistance, chemical resistance and self-lubrication, and low friction coefficients, particularly flame readability, and is easy to process. It’s suitable for glass fiber and Other filler filling enhanced and modified, such as the outer frame, the outer frame, the handrail, the foot of the chair, and so on.

PP

PP materials have high impact resistance, strong mechanical properties, and anti -various organic solvents and acid-base corrosion. It has a wide range of applications in the industry and is one of the common polymer materials. PP enhanced by glass fiber can also make some stress parts, such as back frames, handrails, chair feet, and so on.

POM

POM has good abrasion resistance and self-lubrication and is usually used as a shaft sleeve, gear, and slider.

ABS

Because ABS has a slight shrinkage, the surface is easily plated, and it is usually used to make some shells with higher decorative parts or surface requirements.

PU

After PU foaming, the hardness is low and the hand feel is good, which is usually used as the cover of the headrest.
